DBS Bank India Limited has appointed Praveen Sangal as Head – Equity Capital Markets (ECM), India, strengthening its investment banking leadership with a professional who brings more than 21 years of experience across capital markets, investment banking, transaction execution and corporate client relationships.

In his new role, Sangal will lead the expansion of DBS Bank’s Equity Capital Markets business in India. His responsibilities will include strengthening the bank’s ECM presence, advancing its capital-raising capabilities and supporting corporate clients in meeting their funding and growth objectives through its financial services network across Asia.

Sangal joins DBS Bank after nearly 20 years at Ambit Private Limited, where he held several senior investment banking and capital markets positions. Most recently, he served as Executive Director, a role he took up in May 2025. Before that, he spent more than 18 years as Director – Equity Capital Markets.

As part of Ambit’s core ECM leadership team, Sangal contributed to building and expanding the firm’s equity capital markets business. His work involved managing capital market transactions, investment banking advisory assignments and institutional client relationships. He also gained experience in transaction execution, business development and long-term client engagement.

During his tenure, he played a role in strengthening Ambit’s investment banking capabilities while building professional relationships across India’s capital markets ecosystem.

Earlier, Sangal worked as an Associate at Keynote Corporate Services Limited between 2005 and 2007. This role provided him with an early foundation in corporate financial services before he moved to Ambit and developed his specialisation in equity capital markets.

Reflecting on his nearly 2-decade association with Ambit, Sangal described the experience as an important phase of professional growth, during which he developed his understanding of investment banking and built lasting relationships with colleagues and clients. He also expressed enthusiasm about joining DBS Bank and the opportunity to develop its ECM franchise in India.

His appointment marks a new phase in his investment banking career, bringing extensive experience in ECM leadership, capital markets transactions and business development to DBS Bank’s India operations.
