Citi has appointed Sanchita Malakar as Vice President – Community Investing & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), reinforcing its commitment to driving sustainable social impact through strategic community investments and responsible corporate citizenship.
In her new role, Sanchita will lead Community Investing and Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to advance Citi’s social impact agenda. She will oversee strategic philanthropic programs, community partnerships, employee volunteering initiatives, and ESG-driven investments that deliver meaningful and sustainable outcomes while supporting Citi’s global purpose of enabling growth and economic progress.
Before joining Citi, Sanchita served as Manager – Corporate Social Responsibility & Oracle Giving at Oracle, where she led CSR strategy and employee giving initiatives across India. Earlier, she worked as Specialist – Corporate Social Responsibility and Oracle Giving, contributing to the company’s community engagement and corporate philanthropy programs.
Prior to Oracle, Sanchita was Senior Executive – Corporate Social Responsibility at Asian Paints, where she managed social impact initiatives focused on community development and sustainability. She also spent nearly 3 years with the HCL Foundation as Project Associate, implementing grassroots livelihood and community development programs that created measurable social impact.
A graduate of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) with a Master of Social Work in Livelihood and Social Entrepreneurship, Sanchita has developed expertise in Corporate Social Responsibility, Community Investing, ESG, Corporate Philanthropy, Employee Volunteering, Social Impact, Sustainable Development, Community Partnerships, Stakeholder Engagement, Program Management, Livelihood Development, Social Entrepreneurship, and Corporate Giving.
Her appointment reflects Citi’s continued focus on creating long-term societal value through strategic community investments and responsible business practices across the markets it serves.
