Canadian banking and financial services company CIBC has appointed Mohit Dhingra as CEO and President of CIBC India, strengthening its leadership as the company continues to expand its presence in the country.

Mohit joins CIBC India from Bristol Myers Squibb, where he served as Managing Director. Prior to that, he spent more than 18 years at Bank of America, holding several senior leadership roles in technology and global delivery across India and the United States.

His appointment comes as CIBC accelerates the growth of its India operations following the launch of its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad. The centre is focused on building technology and operations capabilities to support the bank’s global business.

Announcing his new role on LinkedIn, Mohit said, “I’m energized by the opportunity to work alongside such a talented team as we help shape what comes next for our clients, team, and our bank… I’ll be focused on listening, learning, and building lasting relationships with team members, partners, and stakeholders across the organization.”

His appointment reflects CIBC’s continued investment in strengthening its India operations and expanding its global technology and business capabilities.
