Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) has strengthened its technology leadership with the appointment of Kinjal Shah as Chief Technology Officer. Shah took charge on September 22, 2026, as the company prepares for the next phase of India’s securities market infrastructure.
Shah joins CDSL from YES Securities, where he was also Chief Technology Officer. He brings around 25 years of experience across technology, financial services and capital-market infrastructure. His previous roles include positions at NSE, Edelweiss Global Markets, Larsen & Toubro and J.P. Morgan.
According to CDSL’s management disclosure, Shah, 47, holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics. His experience covers software engineering, technology management, enterprise technology and financial-market systems.
At CDSL, Shah will lead the technology function and contribute to the company’s digital and technology initiatives. He has also been designated as Senior Management Personnel under the SEBI Listing Regulations and as Key Management Personnel under the SEBI (Depositories and Participants) Regulations, 2018.
Shah succeeds Amit Mahajan as CTO. Mahajan ceased to hold the position from the start of business hours on September 22, 2026, following Shah’s appointment. He is currently listed by CDSL as Executive Director – Vertical 1.
CDSL said the appointment is part of its efforts to strengthen technology leadership as the securities-market ecosystem continues to evolve.
The company’s official management page now lists Shah as Chief Technology Officer and identifies him as an invitee to its Standing Committee on Technology.
