China’s Canton Fair spotlights drone ecosystem with new dedicated exhibition zones

This move reflects China’s growing focus on advancing drone technology and expanding its low-altitude economy.

The 139th China Import and Export Fair, held in Guangzhou, has for the first time introduced dedicated exhibition zones for commercial and agricultural drones. The initiative showcases the rapid development of unmanned aerial vehicles and their increasing role in global trade.

The newly launched zones feature a wide range of drone applications, including aerial photography, agricultural spraying systems, and industrial use cases. The exhibition brings together key advancements in flight control systems, communication and navigation, AI-based obstacle avoidance, and new energy power technologies.

The event also highlights how drones are being integrated into real-world scenarios. Consumer drones are widely used in tourism, live streaming, and immersive experiences, while also supporting emergency lighting, communication relay, and disaster response operations.

In agriculture, drones are playing a transformative role. Equipped with precision spraying, seeding, and fertilization capabilities, they are helping improve efficiency and reduce manual effort, especially in challenging terrains such as mountainous regions.

By combining product showcases, live demonstrations, and trade matchmaking opportunities, the fair aims to connect Chinese manufacturers with global buyers and accelerate the adoption of drone technologies.

The Canton Fair will be held in three phases and will run until May 5.
