In a refreshing twist to Bihar’s industrial journey, iconic beverage brand Campa Cola is ready to pour in a whopping ₹1,000 crore to establish its first-ever manufacturing plant in the state, choosing Begusarai as its home base. Spanning across 35 acres, this development marks a historic milestone for Bihar’s manufacturing ecosystem.
The grand proposal received the official nod from the Project Clearance Committee of the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA), signalling not just a financial boost, but a wave of industrial optimism sweeping across the region. With another beverage player already operating in Begusarai, the upcoming Campa Cola plant is poised to create employment, foster local supply chains, and attract allied industries, cementing Begusarai’s position on the national manufacturing map.
The momentum didn’t stop there. In the same clearance round, BIADA also approved land allocation for a cattle feed manufacturing facility in Muzaffarpur, backed by an investment of ₹20 crore. Although smaller in scale, it’s yet another thread in Bihar’s expanding industrial tapestry.
The tides are clearly turning for Bihar. This latest chapter adds to the growing list of significant corporate ventures in the state. Notably, the Adani Group had previously committed to building a cement manufacturing unit in Varsaliganj, Nawada, reviving a site once occupied by a defunct sugar mill. Parallelly, multiple IT companies have expressed keen interest in setting up shop in the state, highlighting a broadening of Bihar’s industrial spectrum beyond traditional sectors.
Commenting on the landmark move, state officials see Campa Cola’s investment as a glowing endorsement of Bihar’s improving business environment and industrial climate. With each new approval, the state edges closer to transforming from an underdog to a key player in India’s industrial growth story.
