The veteran HR professional brings experience across Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered, Trafigura and Johnson & Johnson.
BNP Paribas India has appointed Bhavna Kumar as Managing Director – Human Resources, adding an experienced HR leader to its senior management team. Kumar will oversee the bank’s human resources function and contribute to its broader people and organisational strategy.
She brings around 23 years of experience in human resources, with a career spanning financial services and other sectors. Before joining BNP Paribas India, she served as Global HR Lead at Deutsche Bank, where she worked across investment banking, technology, sustainability, risk, finance and treasury functions. Her earlier experience includes roles at Trafigura, Standard Chartered and Johnson & Johnson.
In her new role, Kumar will focus on aligning the organisation’s people strategy with business priorities, while strengthening leadership capabilities and fostering an inclusive, high-performing workplace culture. She is also expected to work closely with business leaders and employees as the bank prepares for its future growth and workforce requirements.
She holds an MBA in Human Resources from XLRI Jamshedpur and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from St. Xavier’s College. Her appointment comes as BNP Paribas India continues to strengthen its leadership and people strategy across its operations in the country.
