In her new role, Sudakshina will lead the company’s HR strategy across business partnering, leadership development, employee experience, employer branding, DEIB, and people impact initiatives spanning offices, factories, and retail stores.
Sudakshina joins Bata India with more than 20 years of HR leadership experience across manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, retail, and global business operations.
Before joining Bata India, she spent nearly 8 years with GSK in several senior HR leadership positions across India and international markets. Most recently, she served as Country HR Head – Vietnam, where she led HR strategy and organizational initiatives focused on business transformation and workforce capability development. Earlier, as HR Lead India Established Pharma, she oversaw HR for the company’s pharmaceutical commercial business, supporting more than 3,000 employees across India. During this period, she also took on the role of Interim HR Head for GSK India, leading a 25-member HR team through major organizational and business transformation initiatives.
Prior to GSK, Sudakshina built a distinguished career at Asian Paints, where she spent more than 11 years in a range of strategic HR and organizational development roles. As HR Head – APL International, she managed strategic HR operations across 14 countries, with a focus on talent management, organizational development, and process excellence.
She also held key leadership positions including Head – Learning, Talent & OD, Lead Diversity and Inclusion and CSR, and Lead – Commercial (India Sales & Marketing). In these roles, she drove talent transformation programs, diversity and inclusion initiatives, capability-building efforts, HR integration during mergers and acquisitions, and employee engagement strategies.
Earlier in her tenure at Asian Paints, she led performance management, talent development, and rewards programs while supporting HR operations across manufacturing locations.
Throughout her career, Sudakshina has developed expertise in succession planning, leadership development, organizational transformation, total rewards, DEIB, employee engagement, and strategic HR leadership.
An alumna of Management Development Institute, Gurgaon, she brings extensive experience in building people strategies that support business growth and organizational excellence.
