In his new role, Mrinal will lead the company’s people and culture agenda, with responsibility for talent strategy, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, and workforce transformation initiatives.
Mrinal joins Axis Max Life Insurance with extensive experience across the banking, insurance, financial services, and consumer technology sectors. His appointment reflects the company’s focus on strengthening its people strategy and building a high-performance workplace culture to support its long-term growth objectives.
Prior to this role, Mrinal was associated with Kotak Mahindra Bank, where he most recently served as Senior Executive Vice President and Head – HR Consumer Bank. During his tenure, he played a key role in shaping people strategies, talent development programs, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness initiatives. He also held leadership positions as Senior Executive Vice President – Head HR Retail Liabilities & 811 and Executive Vice President.
Before joining Kotak Mahindra Bank, Mrinal served as Chief Human Resources Officer at CARS24, leading the people function during a period of significant business growth and transformation.
His professional experience also includes nearly 4 years with Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, where he worked as SVP – Head of HR Business Partnering, Talent Management & Employee Relations, overseeing several key HR initiatives across the organization.
Earlier in his career, Mrinal was associated with Max Life Insurance Company Limited as Corporate Vice President – HR, providing him with prior experience and familiarity with the organization. He also spent more than a decade with ICICI Bank, holding various leadership positions across talent management, recruitment, employee relations, and HR leadership.
Mrinal began his professional journey with Polaris Software Labs as Assistant Manager – HR, laying the foundation for a successful career in human resources and organizational leadership.
An alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur, where he earned his MBA, Mrinal brings deep expertise in human resources, leadership development, talent management, employee relations, and organizational transformation to his new role.
