Strengthening its presence in India, US-based medical device company Align Technology has announced plans to invest nearly $200 million in a new manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. The facility is expected to begin operations in 2027 and will become the company’s first manufacturing unit in India and its 4th globally.
The upcoming project is expected to generate more than 300 direct jobs and further expand Align Technology’s operations in Hyderabad, where the company already runs its Global Capability Center and Align Innovation Center.
According to the company, the new manufacturing site will support its global operations while reinforcing Hyderabad’s role as an important hub within it’s worldwide network. The company also stated that the facility is expected to become margin accretive in its first year of operation.
Align Global Operations Executive Vice-President Jitse Marrée said, “India represents an important growth market for Align, and we are excited about the opportunity to expand our global manufacturing network with a new facility in Hyderabad.”
He further added, “This investment underscores our commitment to scaling our advanced manufacturing capabilities, supporting our doctor customers, and bringing the benefits of the Invisalign System to more patients worldwide.”
Marrée also highlighted Hyderabad’s strong talent pool, infrastructure, and innovation ecosystem as key reasons behind the investment decision.
Align Asia Pacific Executive Vice-President and Managing Director JunHo Han said, “We are proud to expand Align’s global manufacturing footprint with our first manufacturing facility in India and a new state-of-the-art site in Hyderabad.”
He added that the investment reflects the company’s long-term commitment to the Asia-Pacific region and supports its continued expansion across major markets.
They known for developing the Invisalign System of clear aligners, iTero intraoral scanners and services, and exocad CAD/CAM software solutions. The company currently serves nearly 299,500 doctors globally and has supported the treatment of around 22.8 million patients over the last 29 years using the Invisalign System.
