Brookfield announces 100 billion dollar AI infrastructure programme

Brookfield Asset Management has announced a one hundred billion dollar artificial intelligence infrastructure programme in partnership with Nvidia and the Kuwait Investment Authority. The announcement was made on Wednesday and marks one of the largest commitments to artificial intelligence infrastructure to date.

The programme will be supported by the new Brookfield Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Fund. The fund is also launching on Wednesday with a target of ten billion dollars in equity commitments. It has already secured five billion dollars from investors. These include Brookfield, Nvidia and the Kuwait Investment Authority.

Brookfield is among the largest global investors in the artificial intelligence value chain. It has invested more than one hundred billion euros, which is one hundred and fifteen point eight three billion dollars, across digital infrastructure, renewable power and semiconductor manufacturing in markets around the world.

Investor interest in artificial intelligence companies continues to be strong. This comes despite repeated warnings about a possible artificial intelligence bubble that is being fuelled by rising valuations and ambitious spending plans.
