Kia India is taking another step toward advanced connected mobility with the rollout of an industry first Plant Remote Over The Air feature for its cars. This update aims to give customers a smooth and improved ownership experience right from the moment they receive their vehicle.
The new Plant Remote OTA system will be offered in Kia India’s latest models that use the Connected Car Navigation Cockpit platform. With this feature, every connected Kia vehicle will get the newest software remotely before it leaves the production plant. This means customers will receive cars that are already updated and ready to use with the complete set of connected features.
Mr. Atul Sood, Senior VP, Sales and Marketing at Kia India, said, “The introduction of the Plant Remote OTA feature exemplifies Kia’s dedication to driving innovation that truly enhances the customer journey. By ensuring every vehicle leaves the plant with the latest software, we are redefining the ownership experience to be more seamless, intelligent, and future ready. This milestone reinforces our vision of connected mobility and embodies Kia’s commitment to inspiring movement by introducing cutting edge technology and meaningful innovation”.
This update will reduce the need for manual checks or dealership visits for software updates. Customers will be able to access all connected services immediately after taking delivery of the vehicle.
The technology uses Controller OTA functionality that follows the Connected Car System 2.0 standards. The company said this development strengthens its leadership in technology driven mobility. The Plant OTA feature will also be added to all upcoming connected models to ensure timely features and security updates between production and delivery, improving customer satisfaction and the overall ownership journey.
