Guidewire, a global leader in insurance technology solutions for non-life insurers, has announced the opening of its new office at Prestige Tech Park in Bengaluru. The expansion marks a significant milestone in the company’s India journey and reflects its strategy to strengthen cloud-native solutions, attract top engineering talent, and support insurers worldwide in adopting digital-first operations.
Guidewire entered India in 2017 through the acquisition of Cyence. In 2021, the company set up its Bengaluru Development Centre to enhance local research and development capabilities. Today, more than 540 engineers across Bengaluru and Chennai contribute to product development for global markets, focusing on cloud platforms, AI-based underwriting, and advanced data analytics.
The new Bengaluru office will act as a hub for collaboration, innovation, and sustainability. It is aligned with Guidewire’s vision to double its India workforce by 2028, further strengthening its role in global product development.
The inauguration brought together employees, partners, and industry leaders for a day of collaboration and knowledge exchange. Dr. Pramod Varma, Chief Architect of Aadhaar and India Stack, delivered the keynote address on building secure, scalable, and inclusive technology for a digital-first world.
The new office will also serve as a hub for innovation and skill development. Mohammed Anzy S, Managing Director and Vice President of Engineering at Guidewire India, said the facility would be dedicated to building simple yet scalable solutions for insurers across the globe.
To advance innovation and education, Guidewire has launched initiatives such as Guidewire Technology Labs in collaboration with universities including NIT Calicut, PES University, and Amrita University. The company also runs the ElevatED Programme, which provides scholarships and mentorship to underprivileged female students pursuing careers in technology.
With this expansion, Guidewire is reinforcing its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and talent development while playing a key role in shaping the future of insurance technology in India and beyond.
