Algeria Launches New Tech Hub to Boost Digital Transformation

Algeria has taken a major step to advance its digital agenda with the launch of a new technology hub, announced on September 15 in Algiers. The initiative is part of the country’s National Digital Transformation Strategy and aims to accelerate innovation across industries.

The National Investment Fund (NIIF) formalized the project through a signing ceremony with four leading technology companies. NIIF General Manager Saleh Labbani signed the agreement alongside Boumediene Senussi, General Manager of Optimum Telecom Algeria; Boujemaa Awaroun, General Manager of IT-DEV; Falla Kawar, President and General Manager of INET; and Jalal Saidouni, General Manager of SMART TEST.

The new hub will focus on consolidating expertise, infrastructure, and technology resources, with an emphasis on the finance sector. Officials said it will serve as a central platform for driving digitalization and fostering collaboration among public and private players.

“This initiative aligns with Algeria’s broader goal to modernize state institutions, drive economic growth, and establish the country as a regional technology leader,” NIIF representatives noted.

By bringing together leading companies and the NIIF, the hub is expected to enhance Algeria’s capabilities in digital innovation and position the nation as a reference point for technological advancement in North Africa.
