JBM Electric Vehicles Partners with Al Habtoor Motors to Launch E-Buses in UAE

JBM Electric Vehicles, a subsidiary of JBM Auto Ltd., has partnered with Dubai-based Al Habtoor Motors to introduce electric buses in the UAE. Under the agreement, Al Habtoor Motors will serve as the exclusive importer and distributor of JBM’s e-buses across the country.

The partnership, formalised on September 22, 2025, aims to support the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 initiative by deploying electric buses that reduce emissions, lower operating costs, and modernize public transport infrastructure.

JBM Electric Vehicles manufactures its buses at an integrated facility in India with an annual capacity of 20,000 units. Its buses have travelled over 200 million kilometres, served more than one billion passengers, saved over 350 million litres of diesel, and reduced more than one billion kilograms of CO2 emissions. The UAE collaboration is expected to cut 2.8 billion kilograms of CO2, save over one billion litres of diesel, and serve 1.6 billion passengers over ten years.

The e-buses will operate across multiple segments, including urban transport, staff shuttles, school buses, airport tarmacs, and intercity tourist coaches. They feature lithium-ion batteries, advanced safety systems, and smart charging capabilities suited to the UAE climate. The partnership also includes charging infrastructure and leasing services, providing a complete solution for fleet operators.

Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of JBM Auto, said, “The UAE is a strategic market and we are eager to contribute to the government’s sustainable transport goals.” Ahmed Al Habtoor, CEO of Al Habtoor Motors, described the partnership as a milestone in green mobility and expressed the ambition to become one of the top two e-mobility players in the region.

JBM Electric Vehicles is part of the $3.3 billion JBM Group, which operates in over 37 countries across automotive systems and renewable energy sectors. Al Habtoor Motors, part of the Al Habtoor Group, distributes brands including Mitsubishi, FUSO, Bentley, and Bugatti in the UAE.
