Google’s latest and most advanced video generation model, Veo 3, is now available in India. The update was confirmed by Shekar Khosla, Google’s vice president of marketing and site lead, in a LinkedIn post on Thursday.
Veo 3 was first introduced in May at Google’s I/O 2025 developer conference. Initially, the model was offered only to AI Ultra subscribers at a monthly cost of $249.99. In June, Google expanded access to a more affordable option, launching Veo 3 Fast under the AI Pro plan priced at $19.99 per month.
The Veo 3 Fast version still generates eight-second-long videos at 720p resolution. However, thanks to improvements on the backend, Google claims the videos are now generated twice as fast.
Earlier reports from May suggested that Indian users would have to wait for access to the model. But with this latest update, Indian users can now explore Veo 3 through Google’s Vertex AI and Gemini platforms. Future updates, including local support, are also expected.
Indian content creators, filmmakers, and educators have already shown strong interest in Veo 3, particularly for its potential to lower video production costs. The model can generate short videos with realistic visuals, sound effects, and character dialogue, allowing creators to produce high-quality content without the need for expensive crews, actors, lights, or cameras.
Adding to its popularity, Canva recently launched a new ‘Create a Video Clip’ feature powered by Google’s Veo 3. As per an announcement on its website, this feature allows users to generate eight-second video clips with sound using either text or voice prompts.
With these developments, Veo 3 is set to become a useful tool for affordable and efficient video production, especially for India’s growing digital content community.
