CIMware Raises $2.3 Million in Pre-Series A from Transition VC

Bengaluru-based deep-tech startup CIMware has raised $2.3 million in pre-Series A funding from Transition VC, a venture capital fund focused on energy transition. The funds will be used to scale up hardware production and boost research and development activities.

Founded by Rajiv Ganth, who previously led CloudSimple India before it was acquired by Google, CIMware is developing a new category of data center hardware. Its flagship product, the Composable Infrastructure Module (CIM), is a smart top-of-rack switch that combines compute, storage, and networking into one single unit.

CIMware claims its technology can reduce power consumption by up to 80 percent, lower overall costs, and save physical space in data centers.

CIMware has started manufacturing the first batch of 20 CIM units, which are expected to be deployed in Indian data centers by the end of 2025.

The startup is also exploring potential partnerships in global markets including South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It plans to focus on direct sales in India and the US while pursuing white-label partnerships in Southeast Asia.
