In a graceful transition of leadership, Ginkgo Bioworks, the innovative force shaping the future of cell programming and biosecurity, has announced that Steven Coen will step into the role of Chief Financial Officer following the departure of current CFO Mark Dmytruk. Mark will officially step down on May 30, 2025, to explore a new professional chapter, passing the torch to Coen, who currently serves as Chief Accounting Officer.
Steven Coen, CPA, brings a rich blend of wisdom and experience, with over three decades in the world of public accounting and corporate finance. He became a part of the Ginkgo family on May 1, 2023. Before this, he was the Corporate Vice President and Controller at Charles River Laboratories, a globally respected name in research services, serving a vast network of pharma, biotech, government, and academic clients across more than 20 countries.
Coen’s impressive journey includes pivotal roles in the technology and medical device sectors, with his foundation rooted in more than 17 years at Deloitte & Touche LLP, where he mastered the art of auditing and financial stewardship.
