Anumana has announced the integration of its diagnostic ECG-AI technology into perioperative and acute cardiac care, with support from Boston Scientific. Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Anumana revealed that the medtech leader Boston Scientific has become a new investor in its Series C funding round.
Although the amount remains undisclosed, this investment will expedite the development of a multimodal generative AI platform and software as a medical device (SaMD). Anumana states that this funding will facilitate its expansion into new care areas and strengthen its position in AI-driven cardiovascular diagnostics.
As per a news release, Anumana intends to innovate generative AI imaging and visualization technologies to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of complex cardiac procedures. The company anticipates that its perioperative solutions will include real-time imaging platforms and predictive algorithms for various interventions, spanning structural heart, interventional cardiology, and electrophysiology.
In addition to financial backing, Boston Scientific has committed to collaborating with Anumana on these initiatives, aiming to develop AI solutions for electrophysiology procedures, such as cardiac ablation for AFib and left atrial appendage closure.
“This new investment is a strong validation of Anumana’s strategic direction and momentum,” said Maulik Nanavaty, chief executive officer of Anumana. “We’ve built a solid foundation in diagnostic cardiology AI, and we’re now extending that expertise into the perioperative setting. By applying generative AI to imaging and intraoperative support, we’re creating intuitive offerings to interpret complex data in real time and facilitate delivery of care.”
The Series C also included participation from longstanding investors Matrix Capital, Mayo Clinic, Matrix Partners, and NTTVC.
