Indian users of select Vivo and iQOO smartphones can now get an early look at the next generation of the companies’ software. Vivo and iQOO have opened limited preview programmes for OriginOS 7 on the Vivo X300 Pro and iQOO 15 ahead of its global release later this month.
OriginOS 7 is based on Android 17 and is scheduled to launch globally on September 21. The global account confirmed the date in a post on X. Vivo India and iQOO India have also announced preview programmes for their respective smartphones.
The preview programme is limited to 500 users for each device. iQOO will accept registrations for the iQOO 15 until September 20. Vivo has not specified a closing date for X300 Pro registrations, but sign-ups are expected to remain open until September 20, a day before the global launch.
Selected users will receive early access to OriginOS 7 before the stable version is released. This will allow both smartphone models to test the Android 17-based software ahead of the wider global rollout.
How to register for the OriginOS 7 preview
Vivo X300 Pro and iQOO 15 users can apply through the software update settings on their phones. They should first install the latest available software version.
- Open Settings and select System Update.
- Tap the 3-dot menu in the top-right corner.
- Select Upcoming Updates.
- Tap Closed Beta Sign-Up to open the OriginOS 7 preview registration page.
- Select View Details to check the programme information.
- Complete the registration form with the required details.
- Submit the form to apply for the OriginOS 7 Preview Programme.
The Vivo X300 Pro and iQOO 15 originally launched with Android 16-based OriginOS 6.
