Procter & Gamble (P&G) has elevated Ratul Ghosh to Vice President – Human Resources (CHRO), APAC, expanding his leadership mandate across 10 markets covering ASEAN, Japan, Korea and Australia.
The appointment marks another milestone in Ghosh’s more than 21-year career with P&G, during which he has held HR leadership roles across Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the United States.
As CHRO and Regional HR Head for APAC, Ghosh will lead the region’s People and Organization strategy in partnership with P&G’s APAC Executive Board. He will also serve as the functional HR leader for APAC, with responsibility for developing the region’s future HR leadership pipeline.
The elevation follows his previous role as Vice President – Human Resources (CHRO), Japan, where he led the HR function for one of P&G’s major global markets and served on the Japan Executive Board.
In Japan, Ghosh led the people and organization agenda across operations covering the Kobe headquarters, Tokyo office, manufacturing plants, R&D Innovation Center, field sales organization and in-store beauty teams.
Before Japan, he served as Senior Director – HR for Pampers and the Marketing Function across Asia, Middle East and Africa. He supported the Baby Care business and marketing organization across more than 15 markets, while leading talent development and staffing processes for over 650 marketing professionals across more than 20 countries.
Earlier, Ghosh was CHRO for P&G Korea and Regional Employee Relations Head for Asia, Middle East and Africa. He led Korea’s country HR strategy and oversaw employee relations practices across more than 40 markets and 18,000 employees.
His previous assignments included HR leadership for the global SK-II business in Japan and the global R&D and innovation organization for P&G’s Grooming business in the United States, supporting innovation centres across the US, UK and Germany.
Ghosh’s earlier P&G career included Supply Chain HR in India, leadership of talent practices across Japan and Korea, and heading Talent Supply and Learning & Development for India. His foundational roles included Plant HR leadership and Sales HR in India.
Before joining P&G, Ghosh completed an HR Analytics internship with GE, working on statistical modelling related to workforce retention. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics.
