Fresh details about Samsung’s upcoming budget smartphone have reportedly surfaced, including a lower price than previously leaked and changes to some expected hardware. The Galaxy A18 4G has not yet been officially confirmed by Samsung, and its launch date remains unknown.
According to a report, the Galaxy A18 4G could be priced at EUR 279, roughly Rs. 30,900, in France. This is EUR 20, around Rs. 2,200, lower than the EUR 299, roughly Rs. 33,100, price mentioned in an earlier leak.
The French version is expected to offer 128GB of storage. A 256GB variant could be introduced in other markets. The phone is tipped to arrive in Black, Light Blue and Silver.
Samsung Galaxy A18 4G specifications
The Galaxy A18 4G could feature a 6.7-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 1,080×2,340-pixel resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate.
The smartphone is expected to use an octa-core Exynos 1610 chipset built on a 5nm process. It could reach clock speeds of up to 2.4GHz and run Android 17. Samsung could provide up to 6 generations of OS and security updates.
An earlier leak had pointed to a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset instead. The reported configuration includes 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with a microSD card potentially supporting expansion of up to 2TB.
For photography, the phone could feature a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. A 13-megapixel front camera could handle selfies.
The Galaxy A18 4G is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery with 25W wired fast charging. Connectivity options could include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and USB Type-C.
The phone could also carry an IP64 rating for dust and splash protection. It is reportedly expected to measure 164.4×77.9×7.7mm and weigh 196g. The latest leak puts its weight 3g higher than the 193g figure reported earlier.
