Bengaluru is set to become a key technology centre for Warner Music Group as the company expands its Global Tech division and strengthens its engineering presence in India. The new hub will support technology initiatives across the company’s global music operations.
The Bengaluru facility will focus on technical innovation across music distribution, data infrastructure and products. Its work will span core data pipelines, audience and marketing data products, as well as engineering initiatives using AI and other emerging technologies.
Mahesh Rao, director of Software Engineering and site lead for India, said, “The caliber of talent in this market is exceptional, and we are looking for ambitious engineers and innovators who want to help shape the future of the global music industry.”
Leho Nigul, chief technology officer, said Bengaluru will play a central role in the company’s global engineering plans. “It is central to WMG’s global engineering strategy. We are investing heavily in local leadership, modern tech stacks, and globally competitive compensation to attract engineers who want to solve complex, high-throughput systems problems at the intersection of music and AI.”
The company said the Bengaluru hub is not simply an extension of its existing technology team. It will form an important part of its global engineering strategy, supported by local leadership, modern technology infrastructure and competitive compensation.
The facility is scheduled to officially open in September, with recruitment already underway across multiple technology disciplines. The new teams will build on the company’s existing technology capabilities while contributing to its global music technology operations.
