DePuy Synthes is expanding its India operations with a new global capability centre (GCC) in Bengaluru, strengthening the Johnson & Johnson medtech business’s technology, engineering and enterprise services capabilities. The centre is expected to grow to around 500 employees over the next 18–24 months.
The new GCC will operate as a global hub for innovation, engineering and enterprise services. It will bring together technology, data and business capabilities to support clinical innovation and operational excellence.
At launch, the centre will have teams working across software development, data and AI, enterprise applications, technology services and cybersecurity. Recruitment is expected to begin this month, with the GCC being established in phases.
“India is one of the fastest-growing markets in the world for orthopaedic care, and this investment deepens our long-term commitment to patients, surgeons and colleagues here,” said Namal Nawana, worldwide president of DePuy Synthes.
The GCC will be led by Nicholas Parrotta, chief information officer at DePuy Synthes. Dr. Jai Ganesh, chief technology officer, will oversee technology engineering, architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity engineering and digital platforms.
Nagaraj Bhat has been appointed GCC leader and will be responsible for setting up local operations and building the centre’s leadership team.
