As enterprises continue to accelerate the adoption of AI-native human capital management (HCM) platforms, Darwinbox has appointed Akshay Murthy as Vice President and Country Head – India. In his new role, he will lead the company’s growth strategy in India, helping organisations modernise their HR technology through AI-first solutions that enable intelligent, scalable people operations.
Murthy brings over 24 years of experience in enterprise SaaS, technology sales, and business leadership, with a strong track record in driving revenue growth, market expansion, and digital transformation. Announcing his new role, he highlighted the growing adoption of AI in HR across Indian enterprises and shared his commitment to helping organisations move from legacy HR systems to AI-native platforms that support long-term business growth.
Before joining Darwinbox, Murthy spent more than 7 years at Salesforce, where he held multiple senior leadership positions. Most recently, he served as Commercial Leader – South Asia, following roles as Regional Vice President of Sales, Regional Sales Director, and Director – Sales, Large Enterprise. During his tenure, he led high-performing sales teams, developed regional go-to-market strategies, built strong C-suite relationships, and helped enterprise customers accelerate their Data & AI transformation while delivering measurable business outcomes.
Earlier in his career, Murthy held leadership positions at Oracle, IBM, Subex Ltd, Tejas Networks, Eastern Telecoms, Olam International, and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). His experience spans enterprise software, cloud technologies, telecommunications, international business, consulting, and software engineering, providing him with broad expertise in technology innovation and customer success across industries. He also earned an MBA from the Asian Institute of Management, further strengthening his leadership and strategic business capabilities.
As Vice President and Country Head – India, Murthy is expected to play a key role in expanding Darwinbox’s presence in one of its fastest-growing markets while enabling Indian enterprises to adopt AI-native HR technology that enhances employee experiences, improves operational efficiency, and strengthens organisational agility.
