Merck launches integrated Bengaluru campus to accelerate digital innovation and global collaboration

Merck has expanded its operations in India with the launch of the Merck Global Capability Centre (MGCC) in Electronic City, Bengaluru.

The new integrated campus brings together the company’s existing India technology and services operations, creating a more connected and future-ready workplace focused on collaboration, innovation and agility.

The new facility will accommodate around 3,300 professionals working across data, digital, process and technology functions. Spread across 17,000 sq.m., the purpose-built campus features innovation labs, neurodiversity zones and collaborative workspaces designed to attract top technology talent and support high-quality innovation.

A key part of the new centre is Digital Enterprise Solutions (DES), which drives process optimization, enterprise platforms, data and AI, technology infrastructure, hyperautomation and process excellence. DES helps Merck function as a single connected digital enterprise instead of operating through separate business functions.

The Bengaluru campus also brings together business technology teams focused on digital innovation across Merck’s Life Science, Healthcare and Electronics businesses. These combined capabilities create a cross-functional centre of excellence covering AI, analytics, automation and enterprise technology to support innovation across all 3 business areas.

The launch of the MGCC further strengthens India’s position in Merck’s global innovation network. India is now the company’s 4th-largest workforce hub after Germany, the United States and China.
