In her new role, Afrin will lead the organization’s talent strategy, workforce planning, organizational development, leadership initiatives, and people transformation programs. She will focus on strengthening organizational capability, building leadership pipelines, improving workforce effectiveness, and aligning talent priorities with the company’s long-term business goals.
Afrin joins Jindal Steel with more than 20 years of experience across the manufacturing, industrial, technology, and engineering sectors.
Prior to this appointment, she spent over 16 years at Honeywell, where she held several senior human resources leadership roles across India, ASEAN, East Asia, and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
Most recently, she served as HR Director – Honeywell Building Automation India, ASEAN and East Asia, overseeing human resources strategy for a workforce of more than 3,000 employees across 9 countries. In this role, she worked closely with business leaders on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, talent development, leadership capability building, and employee engagement initiatives.
During her tenure at Honeywell, she also held key positions including HR Director – Honeywell Building Technologies India, HR Leader – Honeywell Buildings & Safety and Productivity Solutions India, and HR Leader – Security and Fire Asia Pacific. Across these roles, she contributed to talent management, organizational transformation, change management, performance development, and workforce strategy initiatives.
Before joining Honeywell, Afrin spent more than 7 years with Tata Steel, where she held leadership positions in human resources and industrial relations. Her responsibilities included recruitment, performance management, learning and development, workforce planning, organizational design, employee engagement, and industrial relations. She also supported corporate services, mergers and acquisitions, and key business functions reporting to the Managing Director.
With extensive expertise in talent management, leadership development, workforce planning, organizational development, and business partnering, Afrin brings a strong combination of strategic and operational leadership to her new role.
Her appointment comes as organizations across the manufacturing and industrial sectors place greater emphasis on future-ready talent strategies, workforce transformation, and leadership capability to drive sustainable growth and competitiveness.
