Ann Barron-DiCamillo joins U.S. Bank as Global CISO to strengthen cybersecurity and resilience strategy

A seasoned cybersecurity leader with more than 25 years of experience across banking, financial services, government and critical infrastructure, Ann brings deep expertise in cyber operations, threat intelligence, risk management, incident response, security governance and technology transformation.

In her new role, she will lead U.S. Bank’s global information security strategy, overseeing initiatives to protect critical systems, customer data and digital assets while advancing the organization’s cyber resilience capabilities.

Prior to joining U.S. Bank, Ann spent more than 5 years at Citi, where she held several senior leadership positions. Most recently, she served as Managing Director and Global Head of Tech Optimization, leading enterprise-wide technology modernization, operational efficiency, risk reduction and strategic transformation initiatives across the organization.

Before that, she served as Managing Director and Global Head of Cyber Operations, where she was responsible for global cyber defense, security monitoring, incident response and threat management functions, helping strengthen cybersecurity resilience across one of the world’s largest banking institutions.

Earlier in her career, Ann spent 4 years with American Express as Vice President, Cyber Threat Intelligence and Incident Response. In this role, she led cyber threat intelligence, digital forensics, cybersecurity operations, information security monitoring and incident response programs, supporting the organization’s overall security posture.

Prior to her private-sector leadership roles, Ann served as Director of the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. She led national cybersecurity incident response operations, cyber threat analysis and information-sharing initiatives involving hundreds of public and private sector organizations. Under her leadership, US-CERT managed one of the world’s largest cyber operations centers, monitoring billions of network transactions and coordinating responses to major cyber incidents.

Her earlier professional experience includes leadership roles with DISA, Jefferson Consulting Group/Privacy Council, the U.S. Department of Commerce, as well as technology-focused positions with The Motley Fool and the office of U.S. Representative Tom Coburn.

Beyond her executive leadership experience, Ann has also contributed to cybersecurity education and industry collaboration. She served as an Adjunct Professor at American University, teaching Cybersecurity Risk Management and Governance, and was a member of the Board of Directors of FS-ISAC, the global financial services information sharing and intelligence organization.

Her appointment comes as financial institutions continue to face increasingly sophisticated cyber threats and heightened regulatory requirements. With extensive experience leading cybersecurity programs across government agencies and global financial institutions, Ann is expected to play a key role in strengthening U.S. Bank’s security capabilities while supporting innovation, digital transformation and customer trust.

With a career focused on protecting critical systems and enabling secure business growth, Ann is well-positioned to lead U.S. Bank’s global information security organization through its next phase of growth and resilience.
