In her new global leadership role, Soorya will lead Sodexo’s worldwide talent, learning and development, succession planning, leadership capability, and culture agenda. She will be responsible for strengthening leadership pipelines, accelerating capability building, fostering a high-performance culture, and preparing future-ready talent across the company’s global operations.
A seasoned human resources leader with more than 25 years of international experience, Soorya has built a strong track record in organizational transformation, leadership development, talent management, and workforce strategy across multiple industries and regions.
Prior to this appointment, she served as Senior Vice President Human Resources, APMEA, Brazil & Latin America at Sodexo. In this role, she led people strategy across more than 15 countries and supported a workforce of over 90,000 employees. She played a key role in strengthening organizational capability, accelerating talent development, enhancing employee engagement, and driving business transformation initiatives.
Before joining Sodexo, Soorya served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Bumi Armada, where she led the global HR agenda and contributed to organizational transformation, workforce optimization, leadership development, and HR digitization programs. She also served as a board member for several joint ventures.
Earlier, she held senior HR leadership roles at Petrofac, serving as Regional HR Director for Integrated Energy Services and leading talent management, HR business partnering, and organizational transformation initiatives across Southeast Asia.
She also spent nearly 10 years with GE, holding multiple leadership positions across Asia Pacific and ASEAN. During this period, she led succession planning, leadership development, organizational design, talent mobility, and workforce transformation programs.
Prior to GE, Soorya served as HR Director for Malaysia and Singapore at Eli Lilly and Company, where she oversaw talent management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, staffing, and organizational development initiatives.
Throughout her career, she has been recognized for building high-performing organizations, strengthening leadership capabilities, advancing diversity and inclusion, developing future leaders, and aligning people strategies with business objectives.
Her appointment comes as Sodexo continues to invest in talent, leadership, and culture as key drivers of sustainable growth and long-term success.
