In this position, Jatin will oversee strategic investments and partnerships across Citi’s services ecosystem, including payments, treasury and liquidity management, trade finance, custody, fund services, issuer services, and market infrastructure.

The expanded mandate reflects Citi’s focus on accelerating innovation through strategic investments, partnerships, and emerging technology ecosystems that are transforming global financial services. Mamtani will lead investment strategies aimed at identifying and supporting fintech companies, infrastructure providers, and technology partners that can strengthen Citi’s global services franchise.

Jatin joined Citi in 2022 and most recently served as Global Head of Strategic Investments, Citi Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS), where he led principal investments in fintech companies aligned with the bank’s long-term growth strategy. Prior to that, he served as APAC Head of Institutional Strategic Investments, helping shape Citi’s investment approach across the Asia-Pacific region.

Throughout his career, he has built a strong presence within the fintech and digital infrastructure ecosystem, holding board and investor roles with organizations including GROW Inc, Fnality, iPiD, and Qapita.

Before joining Citi, Jatin spent 6 years at Standard Chartered Bank, leading corporate development and fintech investment activities across Asia-Pacific. During this period, he managed mergers and acquisitions, venture investments, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and divestments. He played a key role in executing more than 20 transactions across payments, digital banking, blockchain, trade finance, infrastructure financing, and private equity sectors, with deal values ranging from several million dollars to more than $1 billion.

Earlier, he served as Senior Investment Manager at BW Ventures, focusing on growth-stage investments in logistics, infrastructure, clean technology, and renewable energy. He also worked as Vice President at Barclays Capital, where he co-led investment research covering banking, insurance, and financial services sectors across Asia.

Jatin began his career as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, advising organizations across financial services, consumer, retail, engineering, and infrastructure industries in India, Singapore, and Malaysia. He also gained early experience at Ittiam Systems and completed an internship with Lehman Brothers in New York.

An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA), Mamtani brings extensive experience in investments, technology, strategy, and financial services to his expanded leadership role as Citi continues to strengthen its innovation and growth agenda.
