Sappa takes on the new role following a long and successful association with the JSW Group, where he has played an important role in enhancing operational efficiency, driving performance improvements, and supporting business growth across multiple functions.
This promotion marks a significant milestone in his career spanning more than 30 years in the steel industry and reflects his extensive experience in manufacturing, operations, business leadership, and industrial growth.
Prior to this appointment, he served as Senior Vice President at JSW Steel, a position he held from 2022. During his more than 16 years with the organization, he progressed through several leadership roles, including Vice President, Associate Vice President, General Manager, and Deputy General Manager. Throughout his tenure, he contributed to key operational initiatives, manufacturing excellence programs, and strategic projects that strengthened the company’s production capabilities.
Before joining JSW Steel, Sappa worked with Ispat Industries Ltd as Deputy General Manager, where he was responsible for critical operational and production activities within the steel manufacturing business.
Earlier, he spent more than 10 years with Essar Steel Ltd, serving as Deputy Manager. During this period, he gained valuable experience in steel operations, manufacturing processes, plant management, and industrial systems, building a strong foundation for his future leadership roles.
With over 3 decades of experience across some of the country’s leading steel companies, Sappa has earned a reputation for operational excellence, business transformation, and execution-driven leadership. His expertise in managing large-scale manufacturing operations and driving continuous improvement initiatives is expected to further strengthen JSW JFE Steel’s operational capabilities and support its long-term growth objectives.
His appointment underscores the company’s focus on leveraging experienced leadership to enhance performance, improve operational efficiency, and drive sustainable growth in a competitive steel industry landscape.
