ANSR elevates Smitha Hemmigae to Chief Market Officer

This promotion recognizes Smitha’s significant contribution to market development, brand leadership, and the growth of India’s rapidly expanding Global Capability Center (GCC) ecosystem.

The elevation marks an important milestone in her leadership journey and reflects ANSR’s focus on strengthening market influence, category leadership, enterprise engagement, and ecosystem development. Over nearly 6 years with the organization, Smitha has played a key role in positioning GCCs as a strategic business priority, moving discussions around the sector from niche industry conversations to boardroom and policy-level agendas.

During her tenure, she helped expand ANSR’s influence through industry research, thought leadership initiatives, enterprise forums, ecosystem programs, conferences, and strategic collaborations with policymakers and business leaders across Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh. Her efforts have contributed to advancing discussions around talent, innovation, digital transformation, and the future of GCCs in India.

Before taking on her new role, Smitha served as Managing Director at ANSR. Earlier, as Head of Marketing – Marketing and Employer Brand, she led integrated marketing initiatives for both ANSR and Talent500. She was instrumental in translating business objectives into impactful marketing programs covering customer engagement, content strategy, market research, public relations, thought leadership, and ecosystem development.

During this period, she helped reposition the ANSR brand in line with the company’s evolving vision and worked closely with CXOs of global enterprises exploring growth and expansion opportunities in India.

Smitha also established and led ANSR’s market advisory practice, overseeing research and intelligence initiatives focused on business services, digital transformation, technology value chains, and GCC evolution. Under her leadership, the team launched industry-first research programs and provided strategic advisory support to organizations building and expanding global capability centers in India.

In addition, she led the company’s employer branding practice, helping Fortune 500 organizations develop localized employer value propositions, talent attraction strategies, content ecosystems, and employer branding campaigns to strengthen their presence in India’s competitive talent market.

Prior to joining ANSR, Smitha served as Head of Marketing – India at ThoughtWorks, where she led both demand-generation and talent-focused marketing initiatives. She also held senior leadership roles at CSS Corp, serving as Senior Director and Marketing Director, with responsibilities spanning content marketing, digital marketing, analyst relations, public relations, influencer engagement, and thought leadership.

Her professional journey includes leadership roles at Unisys, Infosys, Logica, Aztec Software, and AmSoft Information Services, where she built expertise in go-to-market strategy, account-based marketing, corporate communications, analyst relations, market research, brand management, and strategic growth initiatives.

Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Smitha is also the Co-Founder of Your Philanthropy Story, a platform dedicated to highlighting philanthropy and social impact initiatives.

Her promotion comes at a time when India’s GCC sector continues to grow in strategic importance, becoming a key driver of innovation, capability development, and global business expansion for multinational enterprises.
