Akhilesh brings 30 years of global experience in business transformation, shared services, finance modernization, organizational redesign and operational excellence.

His appointment comes at a time when organizations worldwide are accelerating digital transformation, industrial AI adoption, intelligent operations, and enterprise-wide modernization initiatives. In his new role, Kohli will support Siemens’ global growth strategy by driving operational frameworks, technology-led standardization, capability development, and large-scale transformation programs across the organization.

Prior to joining Siemens, Akhilesh Kohli served as Managing Director, GBS LLP and Vice President – Head APAC Global Business Services at Philips. In this role, he led operations across India and China, overseeing transformation initiatives spanning finance, HR services, analytics, master data, IT services, supply chain operations, customer services, project management, and translation services. He worked closely with global leadership teams to execute restructuring programs, strengthen governance models, enhance workforce capabilities, and improve operational efficiency.

Before Philips, Kohli spent nearly 10 years with Maersk, where he held several senior leadership positions, including Global Head – Finance Transformation and Global Operations Lead, APMM Terminals. During his tenure, he led a major finance transformation program that redesigned finance operating models across more than 130 countries. His efforts contributed to approximately US$134 million in annual recurring benefits while advancing process standardization, automation, technology integration, organizational redesign, and capability building across global finance functions.

Earlier in his career, Kohli held leadership roles at Macquarie Group, where he managed finance transformation and transition programs across international operations. He also worked with Genpact, leading global transitions, shared services strategy, business transformation initiatives, and business development programs for multinational clients across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and India.

Over the years, he has developed deep expertise in finance transformation, operating model design, robotic process automation (RPA), enterprise restructuring, organizational change management, and business process modernization.

Kohli is widely recognized for his ability to combine business strategy, operational excellence, technology enablement, and workforce transformation to deliver sustainable business outcomes. His track record of aligning leadership teams around complex transformation agendas has earned him strong recognition within the global business services and transformation community.

His appointment further strengthens Siemens’ focus on advancing digitalization, industrial AI adoption, process innovation, and sustainable growth as the company continues to expand and transform its global operations.
