As one of the world’s leading transport operators, Kinetic serves millions of passengers daily through its bus and rail networks across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Europe, and Asia. Shevlin joins the organization at a significant stage as it progresses towards its goal of transitioning to a zero-emissions fleet by 2035.

Commenting on her appointment, Shevlin highlighted that Kinetic’s focus on sustainable mobility, community impact, and environmental responsibility closely aligns with her leadership values. In her new role, she will focus on developing a people strategy that supports business growth while fostering an inclusive, high-performance workplace culture.

Before joining Kinetic, Shevlin served as General Manager People and Capability – Kmart and Target at Kmart Australia Limited. During her tenure, she played a key role in integrating Target into the Kmart Group under the “One Business Two Brands Strategy,” leading large-scale transformation across people, technology, and business operations to drive significant efficiencies.

Earlier, she held the role of General Manager People and Capability at Target Australia, where she led the people strategy across the retail network and supported the integration of HR functions within the broader Kmart Group structure.

Shevlin also ran an independent HR advisory practice, partnering with Boards, CEOs, and CHROs on transformation strategy, mergers and acquisitions, organizational effectiveness, and governance initiatives.

Prior to that, she served as Chief People Officer at RMIT University, leading workforce transformation programs, diversity and inclusion initiatives, industrial relations reforms, and HR modernization efforts. She also spent more than 5 years at Simplot Australia in senior HR leadership roles, driving enterprise transformation, leadership development, organizational redesign, and workforce capability programs.

Her career further includes senior HR leadership positions at Sensis, EnergyAustralia, National Australia Bank, King & Wood Mallesons, Bechtel, and General Electric.

With extensive experience across people strategy, organizational transformation, and leadership development, Shevlin is expected to play a key role in supporting Kinetic’s future growth and workforce evolution.
