Quantum Valley project strengthens Amaravati’s ambitions to become a global deeptech destination

Amaravati’s upcoming Quantum Valley project is beginning to attract deeptech startups, researchers, and scientists even as large sections of the capital city are still under construction. The initiative is rapidly emerging as a major technology and innovation hub aimed at positioning Andhra Pradesh at the forefront of quantum computing and advanced technologies.

The region currently remains an active construction zone with ongoing infrastructure development, large-scale groundwork, and expansion projects. Despite this, growing interest from the technology ecosystem signals rising confidence in the state’s long-term vision for innovation and deeptech growth.

The Andhra Pradesh government has been actively promoting Amaravati as a centre for quantum technology, artificial intelligence, advanced computing, and next-generation research. The project aligns closely with India’s National Quantum Mission and is expected to attract global investments, research collaborations, startups, and technology partnerships.

As part of the initiative, Andhra Pradesh is preparing to launch India’s first open-access quantum computer test beds at Amaravati Quantum Valley. The facility will provide startups, researchers, and academic institutions access to quantum computing infrastructure and experimental platforms.

The state has already partnered with IBM, Tata Consultancy Services, and Larsen & Toubro for the development of the project. Reports indicate that IBM plans to deploy a 156-qubit quantum processor at the technology park, potentially making it one of India’s largest quantum computing facilities.

Technology leaders and officials believe the initiative could help establish Amaravati as a globally recognised quantum and deeptech ecosystem while creating high-skilled employment opportunities, startup growth, and advanced research capabilities.

The project also includes strong academic collaboration. SRM University-AP and the Andhra Pradesh government recently signed an agreement to establish India’s first quantum reference facility under the Quantum Valley initiative to support researchers, startups, and industry participants.
