A new leak suggests that Samsung is developing a productivity-focused feature for One UI 9 that could help users reduce distractions by blocking internet access for selected apps and categories.

The feature was reportedly discovered inside Samsung’s hidden Connectivity Labs section after the rollout of the Android 17-based One UI 9 beta for the Galaxy S26 series.

According to the report, the upcoming tool is internally described as “Network management for concentration.” The leaked code suggests that the feature is designed to “reduce distractions from videos, social media, and games to improve concentration on work and study.”

Unlike standard app blockers, this feature may work at the network level by cutting internet access for distracting apps. The leaked strings reportedly mention categories such as Browser, Game, Social, Streaming, and Other. A Preset option was also found, which may let users quickly activate restrictions without manually selecting apps every time.

Samsung is also said to be adding security features to the tool. Reports mention support for a 6-digit PIN system with setup, reset, recovery, and incorrect entry prompts. Options like Manage PIN and Delete PIN were also reportedly spotted in the leaked code.

Another reported addition is a Downtime mode. This feature could allow users to schedule restrictions during office hours, study sessions, or bedtime routines by setting automatic start and end timings.

The feature is currently hidden inside Samsung’s experimental labs environment, and there is no confirmation yet on whether it will be released publicly in the final One UI 9 version.

Samsung has not officially announced the feature so far.
