In a significant leadership move in investment banking, Citi has onboarded Raj Rathi as Head (M&A) for India, according to multiple industry sources.
Rathi, who currently serves as Head of Strategy and Corporate Development at Dream Sports, is expected to join Citi in June. An internal announcement regarding his appointment is likely to be made soon.
In his new role, he will spearhead the mergers and acquisitions vertical for Citi in India. In addition, he is expected to oversee select sectors including digital infrastructure, electronic manufacturing services (EMS), and key B2B segments.
Rathi will report to Rahul Saraf, who leads investment banking operations for Citi in India.
He brings strong experience across global financial institutions. Prior to Dream Sports, Rathi has worked with JPMorgan, Guggenheim Partners, and EY, building expertise in dealmaking, strategy, and corporate finance.
