Jio SIMs face deactivation risk without recharge; affordable plans help maintain active status

Users of Reliance Jio are reporting that SIM cards with prolonged inactivity are being deactivated, especially those used only for incoming calls without regular recharges.

According to claims shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Abhishek Yadav, users across regions have noticed their numbers stopping without prior notice. The issue appears to impact SIMs that have not been recharged for an extended period, often close to 1 year.

To avoid losing a number, a small recharge can help keep the SIM active. Here are some of the lowest-cost options:

The ₹11 plan is a short-term data-only pack offering 10GB high-speed data with a validity of 1 hour. After usage, speeds drop to 64 Kbps. It does not include calling or SMS, but can help maintain activity on the SIM.

The ₹103 plan offers 5GB total data with a validity of 28 days. It also includes an OTT benefit, allowing users to select one service via the MyJio voucher system, with options like JioHotstar Mobile, SonyLIV, ZEE5, Lionsgate Play, Discovery Plus, Sun NXT, and Hoichoi, valid for 28 days after redemption.

Another ₹103 option provides 5GB data for 28 days without any OTT benefits, making it a simple and affordable data plan.

The ₹189 plan comes with a 28-day validity, offering unlimited calling, 2GB total data, and possible SMS benefits. It suits users who primarily need calling with minimal data.

The ₹209 plan provides 1GB data per day for 22 days (total 22GB), along with unlimited calling and 100 SMS per day. It may also include additional benefits like JioTV and JioCloud, making it suitable for users needing regular data and full service access.

These options can help users maintain SIM activity and avoid unexpected deactivation.
