New leaks are offering a closer look at Apple’s first foldable smartphone, revealing key design details and dimensions ahead of its expected global debut.
The device, which may be launched later this year alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup, is rumoured to be called either the iPhone Ultra or iPhone Fold. While Apple has not officially confirmed the product, leaked CAD renders and dummy models have already hinted at a wide, book-style folding design.
Dimensions and build
According to leaked internal diagrams shared by a tech blogger, the foldable iPhone could measure 9.23mm in thickness when folded at its thinnest point, excluding the camera module. This would make it slightly thicker than the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which is 8.75mm thick.
The camera module itself is said to be 4.46mm thick, taking the total thickness to around 13mm at its thickest point. The phone may be available in Black and White colour options.
When unfolded, the device is expected to measure 167.59mm in width and 120.59mm in height.
Design and features
The leaked design shows a pill-shaped rear camera module housing 2 lenses, an LED flash, and a secondary microphone. A USB Type-C port and speaker grille are visible at the bottom.
The cover display appears to feature a centre-aligned hole-punch cutout, while the inner foldable screen may include another hole-punch cutout positioned at the top-left corner. Both are expected to house selfie cameras.
However, the diagrams do not show any visible space for Face ID sensors on either display. It remains unclear how this could impact features like Dynamic Island.
On the sides, the power button is placed on the right, while the left side includes volume controls and the Action Button. There is no visible cutout for a dedicated Camera Control button.
More details are expected to emerge closer to the official announcement.
