Expanding its Y-series lineup, Vivo has introduced a new 5G smartphone in China, focusing on long battery life, durability, and balanced performance.
The Vivo Y6 5G is now official and comes in Galaxy Silver, Obsidian Black, and Phoenix Welcomes Gold colour options. It is priced at CNY 1,799 (roughly Rs. 24,000) for the 8GB + 128GB variant, CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 27,000) for the 8GB + 256GB model, and CNY 2,199 (roughly Rs. 30,000) for the 12GB + 256GB option.
The smartphone features a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1,570 pixels, offering up to 120Hz refresh rate and 1200 nits peak brightness. It delivers a 90.60% screen-to-body ratio and a 1500:1 contrast ratio. The device runs on Android 16-based OriginOS 6.
Powered by a 4nm octa-core Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset with Adreno 613 GPU, the phone supports up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
In terms of cameras, the Vivo Y6 5G includes a 50-megapixel rear sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. On the front, it features an 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.05 aperture. It supports multiple modes such as portrait, live photo, night scene, and slow motion.
The device offers a wide range of connectivity options including 5G, Wi-Fi 5G, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and USB Type-C. It also includes sensors like an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, e-compass, infrared remote control, and proximity sensor.
For security, it features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor along with face recognition. The phone carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance and comes with SGS Gold Label 5-Star Drop and Shock Resistance Certification 6.
A key highlight is its 7,200mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. The battery is claimed to deliver up to 15.5 hours of navigation and up to 39.1 hours of calling time on a single charge. The device measures 166.64 x 78.43 x 8.39mm and weighs 219g.
