Under Armour expands global strategy with new GCC in Bengaluru

Reinforcing India’s role in global business strategies, Under Armour has established a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru to expand its international operations footprint.

The new Bengaluru GCC will support key global functions such as digital product development, analytics, and enterprise operations. This move aligns with the company’s broader strategy to drive growth through technology and innovation.

Bengaluru continues to attract multinational companies due to its strong ecosystem. The city offers a large talent pool, robust IT infrastructure, and a well-developed startup environment that supports innovation and scale.

Companies setting up GCCs in India are now focusing beyond cost advantages. They are leveraging the country for advanced capabilities like AI, data science, and customer experience transformation.

India currently hosts more than 1,500 GCCs across sectors. Bengaluru holds a significant share of the GCC workforce. There is also strong demand for roles in AI, cloud, and digital engineering. Retail and consumer brands are increasingly becoming part of this expanding ecosystem.

The launch of Under Armour’s GCC reflects a broader shift in how global companies are integrating India into their core operations. As sectors like retail, e-commerce, and manufacturing continue to join the GCC ecosystem, further diversification is expected.

Bengaluru is likely to maintain its leadership in this space, supported by strong fundamentals and a steady flow of global investments.
