New Glenn mission sees successful booster landing but satellite fails to reach orbit

In a notable development in space missions, Blue Origin achieved a successful booster landing during its latest New Glenn rocket launch from Cape Canaveral on Sunday morning.

This marked the 3rd flight of the New Glenn rocket. While the reusable booster returned safely, the mission faced a setback with AST SpaceMobile’s BlueBird 7 satellite. The satellite powered on after launch but failed to reach its intended orbit.

Following the issue, AST SpaceMobile has decided to deorbit the satellite as it did not achieve its target position in space.

The New Glenn rocket is designed to carry heavy payloads, giving Blue Origin a strong advantage in the commercial launch market. The mission also plays a role in AST SpaceMobile’s broader plan to build space-based cellular networks.

The outcome highlights both the progress and challenges in modern space missions, while also underlining how reusable rocket technology is shaping the future of space exploration and communication systems.
