In a fresh funding development, WorkOnGrid has raised ₹22.5 crore in a round led by Transition Venture Capital, with participation from Indian Angel Network, to accelerate its growth in the utilities sector.
The Bengaluru-based startup had earlier raised ₹1 crore in 2020 from Start Up O ventures and ₹5 crore in 2022 from Indian Angel Network, Startup O, and other angel investors.
The new funding will be used to scale global go-to-market efforts, strengthen AI and machine learning capabilities, and build international infrastructure, the company said.
Founded by Udit Poddar, Shreyansh Jain, Aayush Agrawal, and Shaurya Poddar, WorkOnGrid offers an AI-native operations intelligence platform for utilities across power, water, and gas sectors. It enables real-time data integration, predictive analytics, and workflow automation to improve efficiency, reliability, and decision-making.
The platform is designed to address challenges such as fragmented systems, operational complexity, and the growing need for real-time insights in utility operations.
WorkOnGrid integrates data from multiple sources, including smart meters, sensors, GIS, and financial systems, into a unified, queryable environment. This enables sub-second insights and automated workflows.
At its core, the platform combines a data lakehouse, operational intelligence, workflow automation, and AI-driven analytics. This helps utilities shift from reactive processes to predictive and more autonomous operations, improving performance across critical infrastructure.
The company currently works with over 20 utilities globally and manages data from millions of smart meters, along with large volumes of asset and field data.
