Marking a strategic step in its growth journey, an insurance distribution and technology platform has announced a key leadership appointment to enhance its technical capabilities and innovation roadmap.
Atec Group has appointed Kirsty Biggs as its new Chief Technical Officer. She will join the company on April 14 after completing her notice period at Vitality Insurance. The move reflects Atec’s focus on strengthening its technology leadership as it continues to expand and advance its people-first, tech-driven insurance model.
Kirsty brings over 20 years of experience to the role. At Vitality, she served as IT Director – Vitality Programme Systems and spent 9 years in senior leadership roles across engineering, delivery, and development. Prior to that, she worked for 9 years at Ageas as Innovation Delivery Lead. Her expertise includes IT change management, product development, business transformation, and operations, with a strong focus on delivering effective digital experiences.
In her new role, Kirsty will focus on evolving Atec’s infrastructure within a value-based and human-centric framework. She will work closely with the leadership team to drive modernisation, enhance security, and ensure that technology supports the company’s business, partners, and customers.
Brendan Devine, CEO of Atec, said: “We are incredibly excited to welcome Kirsty to our leadership team. Her understanding of the rapidly evolving insurance technology landscape coupled with her vision and broad skill set, makes her the perfect person to lead the innovation that will power our ambitions. She joins at a pivotal moment in the evolution of our business; we’re punching well above our weight when it comes to being at the vanguard of digital distribution and agentic AI innovation.”
Kirsty said: “I’m delighted to join Atec at such an exciting time, and to play my part in realising its ambitions. I was immediately attracted by the opportunity that comes with such an ambitious business. When it comes to technology transformation, for me, it’s not just about the “human in the loop”, it’s about “human in the lead”; my focus will be on driving innovation that makes a material difference to the business, the market, and customers.”
Atec has seen strong organic growth in recent years, with its GWP exceeding £125 million. The company aims to double its size by 2030, supported by continued investment in technology and leadership.
