Highlighting India’s growing strength in defence innovation, the Union Defence Minister emphasised the country’s push towards advanced technologies and global collaboration.
Speaking virtually at the inauguration of a 2-day conference of defence attachés at Rashtriya Raksha University, Rajnath Singh said that India has become a dynamic hub for innovation in the defence and security ecosystem. The event, titled ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat in the Global Defence Tech Landscape: Accelerating Innovation, Exports, and Joint Technology Partnerships’, saw participation from diplomats and defence representatives from 24 countries.
“Guided by the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, our approach seeks to build self-reliance while remaining globally connected,” Singh said.
He added that India is actively investing in next-generation technologies such as artificial intelligence, unmanned systems, space capabilities, and advanced digital solutions. These technologies are reshaping how defence systems are designed and developed.
Dr Chandira Kaushik highlighted that India now offers a wide range of battle-proven systems, including the Tejas LCA and BrahMos missile.
Yash Vardhan Patel noted that India’s defence exports have reached ₹30,000 crore in 2024-25, reflecting strong growth in the sector.
The conference underlined India’s commitment to innovation, self-reliance, and expanding its presence in the global defence technology landscape.
