A fast-growing enterprise AI startup has entered the unicorn club as demand for automated sales tools continues to rise. Rox AI, a company building autonomous AI agents to improve sales productivity, has reportedly raised a new funding round that values the startup at $1.2 billion, according to multiple sources.
The funding round included a lead investment from existing backer General Catalyst, sources familiar with the deal said. Both Rox and General Catalyst did not respond to requests for comment from a technology publication. At the time the funding closed last year, the startup was expected to reach $8 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) by the end of 2025, according to people aware of the transaction.
Rox was founded in 2024 by Ishan Mukherjee, the former chief growth officer of New Relic. Mukherjee joined New Relic after the company acquired Pixie Labs, a software monitoring startup he co-founded, in 2020. In November 2024, Rox announced it had raised $50 million across funding rounds, including a seed round led by Sequoia Capital and a Series A round led by General Catalyst, with participation from GV.
The startup describes its platform as an intelligent revenue operating system that integrates with existing enterprise tools such as Salesforce and Zendesk. The system deploys hundreds of AI agents that monitor customer accounts, research potential prospects and update CRM systems automatically. By combining these functions into one platform, Rox aims to simplify the many different tools used by sales teams. “Rox’s unique system of AI agents levels up the CRM experience,” Dave Munichiello wrote in a 2024 blog post announcing the Series A round. “These agents work constantly behind the scenes to monitor customer activity, identify potential risks and opportunities and even suggest the best course of action.”
Rox faces competition from established revenue intelligence platforms such as Gong and Clari, as well as AI-driven sales platforms like 11x and Artisan AI. The market is also seeing new AI-native CRM platforms, including Monaco, founded by Sam Blond, former president of Brex. According to Rox’s website, its customers include Ramp, MongoDB and New Relic.
