Samsung exploring AI-powered vibe coding tools for future Galaxy smartphones

Smartphone experiences may soon become more customizable as Samsung considers introducing new AI-driven development tools for its devices. The Samsung is reportedly evaluating the possibility of integrating vibe coding tools into its Galaxy smartphones. These tools could allow users to modify first-party apps and adjust system-level interface elements using artificial intelligence. While the company has not confirmed a launch timeline, the concept suggests that users may eventually gain more control over how their smartphone software functions and looks.

The idea surfaced during a discussion with Won-Joon Choi, who leads the Mobile experience division at Samsung. According to reports, he described the concept as “interesting” when asked whether the company was considering adding vibe coding features to Galaxy AI. He reportedly said the company is exploring the possibility because it could offer the “possibility of customising your smartphone experience in new ways, not just your apps but your UX.”

Currently, smartphone users mainly rely on pre-installed applications with limited customisation options. However, an AI-powered vibe coding tool could change that by allowing people to edit apps and adjust interface behaviour according to their needs. Vibe coding generally refers to the use of large language models to write, edit, debug and deploy software code. The term has recently gained attention as companies such as OpenAI, Google and Anthropic continue to release AI models and tools designed for software development.

Samsung has already expanded its focus on AI with the global launch of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. The devices introduced several new AI-powered features. Now Nudge uses screen context to provide real-time suggestions and shortcuts. Agentic Task Execution can carry out multi-step actions across apps. The Photo Assist Suite allows users to edit images using natural language prompts, while Creative Studio helps turn sketches, photos and text prompts into stickers, invitations and wallpapers. If vibe coding tools are eventually added, they could further expand the role of AI in shaping personalised smartphone experiences.
