Wang previously served as Executive Vice President and Deputy CFO at Cathay Bank before taking on the CFO position. In his new role, he will oversee the bank’s financial strategy, capital management, regulatory reporting, accounting operations, and long-term financial planning as the institution continues expanding across the United States and international markets.
Before joining Cathay Bank, Wang worked as Executive Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer at Webster Bank. In that position, he led enterprise-wide accounting operations, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance functions.
Earlier, he held senior leadership roles at Banc of California, where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer as well as Executive Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer.
Wang also gained experience at Santander Bank, where he managed SEC reporting, accounting policy development, and accounting operations.
He began his professional career in assurance and advisory services at PricewaterhouseCoopers and CliftonLarsonAllen. He also built corporate finance experience while working at Amtrak.
Wang holds a Master of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from Temple University.
His appointment marks an important leadership transition at Cathay Bank as the institution continues to strengthen its financial management and strategic growth initiatives.
