Global firms expand India footprint with new GCC launches in February

India continued to strengthen its position as a Global Capability Centre hub in February, with 8 multinational companies setting up new GCCs across key cities. Companies from healthcare, SaaS, insurance, automation, chemicals and consulting sectors deepened their India presence, reinforcing the country’s role in global product, technology and digital transformation mandates. Major hubs such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Pune saw fresh investments this month.

US-based healthcare solutions provider TruBridge launched its GCC in Chennai to support US community healthcare systems in revenue cycle management, medical billing and tech-enabled services. The company plans to expand into product and engineering functions over time. Clinical intelligence platform Cohere Health opened its GCC in Hyderabad to scale AI-driven healthcare operations, including product development, data science, analytics and clinical operations. Belgium-headquartered SaaS firm Itineris inaugurated its global technology and innovation centre in Hyderabad, with plans to scale to 150 professionals in 18-24 months. The centre will support product development for its UMAX and Verity platforms serving utilities in North America and Europe.

GI Outsourcing launched its GCC in Hyderabad with a 50-member team and plans to add 50 more employees in 1 year, followed by an additional 100 by 2028. Located at the International Tech Park, the centre complements its existing operations in Mumbai, Delhi and Ahmedabad. Automation major Festo opened a 71,000 sq. ft facility near Electronics City in Bengaluru, aiming to employ over 600 professionals. The hub will focus on advanced engineering, digital solutions, software development, data analytics and process excellence. US-based insurer The Hartford inaugurated a 160,000 sq. ft technology centre in Hyderabad, expected to scale to nearly 1,200 employees in the coming years.

Syensqo, a global science and specialty chemicals company established in December 2023 as a spin-off from the 160-year-old Solvay, launched its GCC in Pune to support global IT functions. The company develops advanced materials and specialty chemicals for automotive, aerospace and healthcare sectors, focusing on electrification and sustainability. Meanwhile, Optimum Solutions and ABeam Consulting set up integrated GCCs in Hyderabad and Chennai to serve Japanese and multinational enterprises in digital transformation, cloud modernisation, data engineering and AI-led programmes. They plan to scale India operations to 2,000 professionals by 2030, anchoring a larger share of global programme execution in the country.
