Strengthening its global engineering and innovation footprint, automation major Festo has opened a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru. The company said the facility will support its global operations, research and development initiatives, as well as expand its digital and innovation capabilities. Festo plans to employ over 600 professionals at the new centre.
The 71,000 sq ft facility is located near Electronics City and has been designed as a strategic hub for advanced engineering, digital solutions, software development, data analytics and process excellence. The Bengaluru GCC will also build on the expertise of Festo’s existing teams in India, with a strong focus on global process optimisation and innovation across its international operations.
“Our GCC in Bengaluru is aligned with Festo’s vision of automation for a sustainable future, the centre will play a significant role to drive global R&D initiatives while fostering collaboration with India’s rich technology and engineering talent pool,” said Ravi Sastry, managing director, Festo India. The company aims to leverage India’s engineering strength to enhance its worldwide automation and digital transformation efforts.

Over the last 4 decades, Festo India has grown to more than 1,000 employees, serving 25,000 customers, institutions and industry partners in industrial automation and technical education. Globally, the family-owned company, headquartered in Germany, employs over 20,000 people across around 250 locations and reports annual revenue of about €3.5 billion.
